Making Reservations
Members can use the new Winetasters website to book reservations for upcoming events: dinners, Tastings, the Christmas Party, or other special events. You will need an account on this website in order to book online. Once you have an account you will receive email notifications of upcoming events and event reminders. Any events with space still available can be reserved online and payment can be made through Paypal. Major credit cards are accepted only for online reservations.
If you would rather not reserve online, Wintasters will continue to send mailings, just as we always have. All members of Winetasters, (regular or temporary) should receive a mailing, generally in the first half of the month. The mailing will have notices describing upcoming events, and instructions about how to make a reservation. There will be a form to be completed, and returned along with your cheque. Please note that we cannot accept credit card payments by mail, only online.
Guests can attend Winetasters events, at the higher "guest" rate, as long as space is available. We cannot tell in advance whether space will be available. If you wish to attend an event, send a reservation as early as possible. We will notify you, and tear up your cheque, if you cannot be accommodated. We do not have time or resources to confirm reservations.
To make a reservation, first read the information sheet about the event. These are posted in this web site and links to them are placed on the Home Page and on the Events Page. Members and guest rates are shown on these postings.
For most event, reservations are to be send to the following address:
Winetasters of Toronto,
270 Glen Manor Drive West,
Toronto, Ont.
M4E 2Y2.
In most cases, cheques should be made payable to:
Winetasters Society of Toronto.
Along with your cheque, include your name, address, and a daytime and evening phone number. For some events, such as dinners, it is also necessary to specify the date(s) on which you can attend. (For such events, your chance of acceptance is better if you can provide a choice of dates.)
For some special events, including most seminars, a different name should be used on the cheque. As well, some events use a different mailing address. Please read the description of the specified event for more information.
Unless the event notice says otherwise, regular tastings are held at:
North York Memorial Community Hall
The Burgundy Room
5110 Yonge Street. (under library)
North York Centre Subway
If it is necessary for you to cancel a reservation, you can do so up to the Friday before the event. Phone (416) 690-0281 (evenings) to cancel. Cancellations later than this time cannot be honoured, and you will be charged for the event.
If you have misplaced, or did not receive, a mailing, please contact us so we can fix the problem. But please note on your reservation sheet that your are a member, and pay the member's rate.
