This year will include four featured wines, two first-growth Bordeaux wines, and two old and rare Madeira wines. The appeal of having the opportunity to taste a well-aged first-growth Bordeaux needs no further explanation. If Madeira wine is not familiar to you, tasting one of these highly-sought wines is a unique experience. This year, we have dug deep into the cellar and are excited to pour two rare Madeira wines. This is a fantastic opportunity – it’s not every day you can taste a 90-year-old wine! Madeira is famed for its longevity; this will be a honey of a treat. For context: both wines are made with Verdelho grapes, have a dark amber colour, a concentrated aroma of dried fruit, honey, and vanilla spice. With well-balanced acidity, Madeira is ageless with a long finish.
